Since January 1st 1997, MaK has been part of Caterpillar Inc. With the MaK product range, Caterpillar has extended its engine program in the upper output band. The Caterpillar engine program thus comprises the propulsion output range from 209 bkW to 16800 bkW and the generator sets range from 10 kWe to 16111 kWe.

The MaK long-stroke program embraces 4 series of medium-speed four-stroke diesel engines in the output range from 1020 to 16800 kW at speeds ranging from 500 to 1000 rpm. MaK diesel engines are distinguished by high reliability, extremely low operational costs, simple installation and maintenance, and compliance with IMO environmental regulations.
